Cordierite
Cordierite ceramics are a type of magnesium and aluminum silicate with excellent thermal shock properties. The thermal conductivity and thermal expansion of cordierite are also very low, and it offers high cost-effectiveness. It is often used as structural ceramic for furnace furniture and other applications where temperature changes occur rapidly. High-density cordierite can be easily pressed into technical components, while porous cordierite performs better under thermal shock, making it suitable for heating applications. It withstands continuous temperatures of up to 1200°C-1220°C.
