Ceramic anchors

Ceramic anchors are components made of refractory ceramic material designed to secure and support refractory linings in industrial structures operating at high temperatures, such as furnaces, boilers, and chimneys. These anchors are embedded directly into the lining, providing anchor points to hold the refractory material in place. Due to their ceramic composition, they exhibit excellent resistance to heat, corrosion, and thermal shock, without deforming at high temperatures as metallic anchors might. This ensures the integrity of the refractory lining even under extreme operating conditions, thereby extending its lifespan and effectiveness.

Characteristics

  • High Thermal Resistance: Designed to withstand extreme temperatures without degrading.
  • Excellent Resistance to Chemical Corrosion: Do not react with aggressive gases or slags present in the furnace.
  • Low Thermal Conductivity: Reduces heat loss and improves the furnace’s energy efficiency..
  • High Mechanical Strength: Withstand loads and thermal stresses without fracturing.
  • Compatibility with Refractory Materials: Manufactured with materials similar to refractories to prevent thermal expansion differences that could cause structural failures.
  • Durability and Long Service Life: Designed to withstand thermal cycles and minimize furnace maintenance.

Typical applications

  • Vaults and ceilings of industrial furnaces in steelmaking, cement, glass, and ceramics industries.
  • Melting and calcining furnaces, where structural stability at high temperatures is required.
  • Heat treatment furnaces, to ensure the secure attachment of the refractory lining.
  • Boilers and combustion chambers, where exposure to corrosive gases and high temperatures is common.
